NetApp 8.2 Simulation : Part 6 SnapDrive Installation

The first thing we need to do is downloading the SnapDrive from NetApp site:

Go to the Downloads , and click on "Software" :



Select the 'SnapDrive" for Windows OS :


Select and download the latest version (7.0.2) :



Run the installation file :


Click on Next to continue the installation :


For the License, select " Per Storage System" :


Type the User Name and Organization if you want :


Change the location folder if you want or leave the default :


Select the option to open the necessary ports in Firewall for the SnapDrive communication :


If you want, you can enable the vCenter or ESX server or leave it for now and config it later :


Insert the Virtual Storage Console configs :


And select a user name and password for the SnapDrive installed services :


Here are the default ports for SnapDrive : (I leave the default settings)


If you have a specifi IP address just for the SnapDrive, insert it here and enable the preferred storage system IP Address:


For the Transport Protocol , I select the HTTP for now and use my UserID and password :


You can configure the Unified Manager later :


Click on Install :


And done, installation completed successfully :


Now if you open the Server Manager and go to "Storage" node, you can find the SnapDrive and if you want you can change the settings or view all the current configs :
